Heidelberg, Germany
RAACH SOLAR wins tender from Stadtwerke Heidelberg for Germany's currently largest glass-glass photovoltaic car park roof.
Building-integrated photovoltaics is the utilisation of existing surfaces as part of the building envelope, either as a roof-integrated or façade-integrated photovoltaic system for generating electricity.
Carsten Hindenburg from Stadtwerke Heidelberg commented on the award: "With RAACH SOLAR, we have gained a competitive and competent partner for the realisation of this challenging project.
RAACH SOLAR project manager Emeka Uzukwu worked his way through 70 pages of the specifications and guarantees that the project will be carried out properly. Managing Director Jürgen Raach emphasises the uniqueness and unique selling points of the project: "With this project, we have achieved several goals at once. These are in detail:
- Strengthening the building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) market segment
- Exceptional location: multi-storey car park opposite the SNP DOME Heidelberg basketball stadium
- Strong performance: Photovoltaic glass roof for a multi-storey car park with more than 500kWp output
- Customised solar modules and substructure
- Aesthetic design solution for photovoltaic systems
- Components "made in the European Union"
- Turnkey installation and delivery
- Economic efficiency without special feed-in tariffs
- Clean CO2 neutral electricity production
- The fight against climate change
We will also be able to expect significant double-digit sales growth for the 2023 financial year"
