The microgrid (Solar + Battery) system is set up under the Indo-German Solar Partnership Project (IGSEP). The PV battery system will save 115 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.
The 100 KWp solar power is installed on ground as carports and the 466 kWh Lithium Ion Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is installed in a new air conditionned shelter. The photovoltaic power generated during daytime is stored into lithium batteries for time based discharging or for use in the night time. In case of power cut, the PV battery system can supply up to 200kW of peak power.
During the COVID19 pandemic and thanks to a strong Indian partner, the project was delivered and commissioned in a difficult environment.
